DMARC Implementation Guide

A step-by-step DMARC guide for the IT or email admin who owns your domain's DNS. DMARC works with SPF and DKIM to stop attackers sending mail that shows your domain in the From line.

It follows the order that avoids blocking your own mail: list every service that sends as your domain, set up SPF and DKIM for each, publish DMARC at p=none, read the aggregate reports for a few weeks, then move to quarantine and reject. Many teams stall at p=none because marketing, HR or billing tools send mail nobody listed; the guide shows how to find them in the reports.

What's inside:

  • SPF record creation and validation guide
  • DKIM key generation and DNS configuration
  • DMARC policy creation (p=none, quarantine, reject)
  • Reading and interpreting DMARC reports
  • Moving from monitoring to enforcement mode
  • Common implementation mistakes and how to avoid them
